August Planner Walkthrough

Oh my goodness, can you even believe that August is almost over.  This is literally the last week of the month!  Where did the month go?  Where did the summer go?  Well, no rest for the wicked, I guess, onward.

I have finally gotten my new planner for the school year.  I mentioned in my August Bullet Journal set up that I was considering a Recollections’ Organize It binder and DIY inserts to use as my main planner.  Since I had already bought the binder and I could print the inserts at home I went ahead with it.

Side note, my printer has been reacting badly to my computer updating to Windows 10 and I can’t print my own stickers, I can only cut them with my Silhouette.  I had to get my stickers printed from Office Depot and they didn’t fit my inserts.  The first four weeks, the stickers were too small and this week the stickers are too big.  C’est la vie, I’ll work on it for September.

Now, let’s get to the planning.

The first week was my best friend/roommate’s birthday week.

August Week 1

The theme was Princess and the colors were jewel tones to represent my Yin, my best friend, and pink because I love pink!.

Not gonna lie, I am OBSESSED with this spread.  It’s my fifth favorite spread of all time, behind the month of Princess and Frog spreads I did in my planner last year for my birthday.  I have no regrets.

The second week of the month is Suicide Squad Harley Quinn and Joker themed.  I ship Joker/Harley.  My best friend tries to ruin it for me but we disregard haters on this ship.

August Week 2

This was also the first week of my trip to the Virgin Island to visit the boyfriend but he promised to take me to Suicide Squad on the day I got to the island (and he totally did) so the movie was more important than anything else!

As you can see, this is not a Suicide Squad spread, it’s a Joker/Harley spread, because that’s all i cared about.  No spoilers, but I love how she was all in her feelings and he was all Captain Save-em.

I want to love this spread but the cuts are super off and it makes it hard for me to enjoy it as much as I want to but I think when the movie comes out on DVD I’m going to use this kit again.

Week 3 I actually gave to vacation.  It’s vacation themed, with the colors of the US Virgin Islands flag.

August Week 3

This week is super primary and not too bright and completely unlike me.  I’m a pastel, shabby chic, glitter type of gal and this a serious, t-shirt kind of spread.  I’m not complaining, because I like it, it’s just about 165 degrees from me.  You get it, cause we’re not complete opposites, but we’re getting there. Ok, math humor.

The fourth week of the month was the first week of school so the theme is back to law school in my schools colors, Columbia Blue and Gold.

August Week 4

This is probably going to be my go to layout, for the rest of the semester.  I’m not a no white space planner, obviously, but also, I don’t usually use full boxes because they take up so much room and I feel terrible covering them.  So, instead of torturing myself, I usually just skip them and don’t even make them.  That is probably how the rest of the school year will go, with something functional filling that space on the sticker sheets

The final week of the month, which is half August and half September, I did a #girlboss theme.  These colors, all pastel shorbert-y are so my style.  Unlike the primaries from my vacation week, these colors are 100% me. No shade, I’m just a pastel princess.

August Week 5

I also used some washi tape this week, besides just for the hole-punched sides.  I got the Scotch Expression gold glitter washi from Office Depot and the Recollection gold foil washi from Michael’s.And I used some of my Heidi Swapp and MAMBI Happy Planner stickers, which I have been been holding on to for months now, I think almost a year actually.

And that, ladies and getlemen, is that.  All ofd my planner spreads for AugustLike I said, all the stickers and the inserts this month were made by me.  I’m still working on the sizes and trying to find planner peace but I will not give up.

I hope you enjoyed.  If you are a planner person too, let me know.  I love looking at other people’s planners so share with me.

All right, bye for now.

August Bullet Journal Plan with Me

August Bullet Journal Set Up

Hey Planner Dolls,

I’m back, with my first planner post on the blog.  I can’t believe it’s taken this long because I am, in all actuality, a crazy obsessed planner girl.

That being said, let me introduce you to me bullet journal.

My Bullet Journal

I bought this journal at Burlington Coat Factory ages ago, maybe my sophomore year of college.  It is a plain, ruled notebook, the pages are off-white with pink lines and the closure is a magnetic panel.

My bullet journal setup is inspired by the YouTuber/Blogger/Etsy Shop Owner Kara  from Boho Berry.  It is pretty minimalistic, for me and my Victorian sensibilities, but I use my bullet journal as a pen only planner.

I’m in my bullet journal as my only planner right now because I haven’t ordered my school planner yet.  I can’t decide between another spiral-bound, full-sized planner or the Recollections  Organize-It binder with 3/4 sized pages.

Anyway, on to the main event, this month’s set up.

August Monthly

For August, I did a monthly memories page, with a decorative wreath and some faux-lligraphy.

And on the second page I put my August month at a glance.

On the left side are all the odd numbered days, on the right are all the even numbered days.  I write the number and the day of the week that corresponds, then next to the day I write the important event or thing to remember.  I have a color code system for bills, birthdays, holidays, school and personal.

After the monthly overview I put my “work” calendars for my blog and my two Storenvy shops, Princess Dee-Licious and Creative Blerd.

Blog and Shops pages

The left page is for this blog,  It has my blog posts and my blog tasks for the month, as well as my YouTube schedule.

Blog Work page

The right page is for Princess Dee-Licious and Creative Blerd.  I have daily tasks for each of my Storenvy shops  that I keep in my bullet journal.

Shops Work page

Next, I do a spread for monthly trackers.  I track habits that I want to work on for the month and also Instagram photo challenges

And that’s the end of the monthly pages.  Then I get into my weekly and daily spreads.

The weekly spread is one page with the week’s goals, to dos, important tasks and gratitude.

Week 32 Overview page

The daily pages have a date flag, a time scale, hydration, caffeine and meal trackers, a to do list and a devotion section.

Well, that’s all for now.  I’m on vacation right now and I really must get some rest before the beach tomorrow.

Week 31 Outfit Collage

Week 31 in Outfits

Remember when I said I’m no fashion blogger.  I think it’s in my About Me page or my introduction post. Either way, I warned you before I started this feature so no complaining.

Moving on, let’s get into this new feature, This Week in Outfits.

The idea behind it is to share my weekly outfits, from Monday to Friday,  in a post once a week.  I feel like I have a house full of super cute clothes, shoes and accessories and I have to dress everyday for school anyway. So really, I’m killing to birds with one stone, outfit planning and an entertaining and inspiring blog feature. Go Dee Dee.

Anyway, I’m still working as a teaching assistant for pre-law so I tried to be a little bit classy and presentable this week.
