Oh my goodness, can you even believe that August is almost over. This is literally the last week of the month! Where did the month go? Where did the summer go? Well, no rest for the wicked, I guess, onward.
I have finally gotten my new planner for the school year. I mentioned in my August Bullet Journal set up that I was considering a Recollections’ Organize It binder and DIY inserts to use as my main planner. Since I had already bought the binder and I could print the inserts at home I went ahead with it.
Side note, my printer has been reacting badly to my computer updating to Windows 10 and I can’t print my own stickers, I can only cut them with my Silhouette. I had to get my stickers printed from Office Depot and they didn’t fit my inserts. The first four weeks, the stickers were too small and this week the stickers are too big. C’est la vie, I’ll work on it for September.
Now, let’s get to the planning.
The first week was my best friend/roommate’s birthday week.
The theme was Princess and the colors were jewel tones to represent my Yin, my best friend, and pink because I love pink!.
Not gonna lie, I am OBSESSED with this spread. It’s my fifth favorite spread of all time, behind the month of Princess and Frog spreads I did in my planner last year for my birthday. I have no regrets.
The second week of the month is Suicide Squad Harley Quinn and Joker themed. I ship Joker/Harley. My best friend tries to ruin it for me but we disregard haters on this ship.
This was also the first week of my trip to the Virgin Island to visit the boyfriend but he promised to take me to Suicide Squad on the day I got to the island (and he totally did) so the movie was more important than anything else!
As you can see, this is not a Suicide Squad spread, it’s a Joker/Harley spread, because that’s all i cared about. No spoilers, but I love how she was all in her feelings and he was all Captain Save-em.
I want to love this spread but the cuts are super off and it makes it hard for me to enjoy it as much as I want to but I think when the movie comes out on DVD I’m going to use this kit again.
Week 3 I actually gave to vacation. It’s vacation themed, with the colors of the US Virgin Islands flag.
This week is super primary and not too bright and completely unlike me. I’m a pastel, shabby chic, glitter type of gal and this a serious, t-shirt kind of spread. I’m not complaining, because I like it, it’s just about 165 degrees from me. You get it, cause we’re not complete opposites, but we’re getting there. Ok, math humor.
The fourth week of the month was the first week of school so the theme is back to law school in my schools colors, Columbia Blue and Gold.
This is probably going to be my go to layout, for the rest of the semester. I’m not a no white space planner, obviously, but also, I don’t usually use full boxes because they take up so much room and I feel terrible covering them. So, instead of torturing myself, I usually just skip them and don’t even make them. That is probably how the rest of the school year will go, with something functional filling that space on the sticker sheets
The final week of the month, which is half August and half September, I did a #girlboss theme. These colors, all pastel shorbert-y are so my style. Unlike the primaries from my vacation week, these colors are 100% me. No shade, I’m just a pastel princess.
I also used some washi tape this week, besides just for the hole-punched sides. I got the Scotch Expression gold glitter washi from Office Depot and the Recollection gold foil washi from Michael’s.And I used some of my Heidi Swapp and MAMBI Happy Planner stickers, which I have been been holding on to for months now, I think almost a year actually.
And that, ladies and getlemen, is that. All ofd my planner spreads for AugustLike I said, all the stickers and the inserts this month were made by me. I’m still working on the sizes and trying to find planner peace but I will not give up.
I hope you enjoyed. If you are a planner person too, let me know. I love looking at other people’s planners so share with me.
All right, bye for now.
