Creative Blerd

So, I don’t know if you’ve noticed the new page on the blog, the Creative Blerd page.

Creative Blerd Paperie Post Cover

If you  have been then you know the shop official launch is scheduled for tomorrow, December 8.

Just so you know Creative Blerd Paperie is a stationary shop.

When the shop opens I’m going to be offering mainly planner related products but there will be plenty of adorable stationary goods besides just planner goodies.

For the launch tomorrow, there will be four new year’s kits.  Happy New Year is a traditional, black and gold, new year’s kit with decorative hearts.  Auld Lang Syne is a Victorian-inspired, sepia toned kit inspired by the classic New Year’s Eve song.  Champagne Bubble Burst is a pretty pink, ultra feminine new year’s kit inspired by champagne, of course, and watching the ball drop under the Eiffel Tower.  And, finally New Year’s glitter is a glittery explosion that mixes bright and black.

There will also be three stationary sets.  All the sets are monthly exclusives and have a common theme and coordinate.  The penpal set offers everything for a penpal, novice or expert, envelopes, paper, ephemera, stickers, and pens.  The stationary addict set will have 20 sheet paper pads, notepads, sticky notes, and matching pens.  And the writer set will have notebooks with inspirational quotes, journals, pens, and sticky notes.

And of course there will be cute stickers, notebooks and notepads available for sale that aren’t a part of any set.

All of that leads us to the really important stuff, a giveaway.

A Blogmas Present

Well hello and welcome to what should have been the second post of Blogmas.  I was in the mood to give, you know, cause ’tis the season.

My gift to you is a few planner printables, all for you, from the goodness of my heart.  No need to thank me.  But uncut diamonds are always accepted.

The first kit is the icy cool Winter Wonderland.  It is sized for the Erin Condren vertical planner and will fit MAMBI Happy Planners or Sew Much Crafting inserts.  There are enough stickers for a pretty full white space spread or you can print more than one of the printable for a no-white space spread.  The kit is available in SVG and PDF version.

The second kit is the merry and bright Christmas Cookie.  This kit is also available is SVG or PDF version.  If you use the SVG fles you will also need the CUT FILE.

The Christmas countdown has a sweet little tree and presents, and it’s adorable.  You can download the SVG or PDF file, and there is a CUT FILE as well.

The New Year’s countdown is fabulous with all the glitter and a disco ball.  It is available in SVG and PDF and of course, the CUT FILE.

If you use any of my stickers, let me know.  I would love to see it.  You can tag me on Facebook @creativeblacknerd, Instagram @himeblackonyx or Twitter @deedeecreative!

Until then, Happy Blogmas!

Winter International Lolita Day 2016

Happy Winter International Lolita Day!

And Day 3 of Blogmas.  I know that I have only posted my Blogmas Announcement and not a post for Day 1 and Day 2 but they are coming, trust me!

And, moving on, to the topic of the day:

For the uninitiated, International Lolita Day is the biannual celebration of Lolita fashion held on the first Saturday of June and December, hence the designation Winter International Lolita Day, as opposed to Summer International Lolita Day.

Funnily enough, International Lolita Day, or ILD, started as an idea by kurololi on livejournal in 2005.  It was initially a brilliant idea to troll mainstream American by having a bunch of Gothic Lolitas meet up in major American cities and generally exist without anyone understanding why.

I had always thought ILD was the brainchild of some brand, probably Angelic Pretty or Baby the Stars Shine Bright to bring exposure to the sub-style, in order to sell more dress.  Or at the very least a thing that the original Japanese Lolitas had been doing that came to the Wet with the fashion.  But honestly, I rather like the ILD origin story, it’s unexpected, like our fashion itself, and meant to be reactionary and trolling, which also mirrors the fashion, which was created as a reaction, and troll, to the culture of Japan that wanted women and girls to be docile, conservative and covered up.  Lolita is that taken to the extreme.

It’s kind of bizzare to think that ILD only began 11 years ago, and not in the form that Ive always known.  I kind of always thought that it was part and parcel with the fashion, but obviously not.  Makes you think though, doesn’t it?

My plan for ILD was to go to the Louisiana Renaissance Festival and spend the day wandering aimlessly in my frills but that fell through for a myriad of reasons that I won’t bore you with.

Instead I spent the morning shopping with my Yin and the afternoon I’ll study for my finals, which started a week from yesterday. Ahhh!

I am bummed that I didn’t even end up dressing in Lolita for ILD.  But I think I’m going to reschedule ILD for another weekend, while I’m home for Christmas break, if I do you’ll hear about it here, on my Instagram, @himeblackonyx.  The plan is to only where Lolita while I’m home for the holiday, expect to church.  So I will get my ILD even if it kills me.

That being said, I’m off, and Merry Blogmas!

Merry Blogmas 2016

Hello friends, guess what, we have made it past Thanksgiving & we’re in the homestretch of 2016.

I’ve actually had an exceptionally good year and I cannot wait for what next year has in store.  But before we bid a fond farewell to 2016, and all that came with it, I thought it might be fun to do BLOGMAS.

First, to answer the question “What is blogmas?”

Blogmas is a blogging challenge, specific to the month of December, where the blogger makes a post everyday for the entire 31 days of the month.  Sounds easy enough but I’m lucky if I can string 3 days together, let alone 31.  I mean, did you see my NaNoWriMo?  It wasn’t good, believe me, but that’s old stuff, and we’re moving on!

For my blogmas, I’m doing 31 days of content and most of it will be HOLIDAY CONTENT.  There will be planner stuff, Lolita stuff, craft stuff, and any other thing else I can think of to fill up 31 days worth of blog posts.  And, there will be a giveaway from my shop, Creative Blerd Paperie, ever Wednesday.

I’m kinds full on excited for this blogmas challenge.  I hope you are too!  Blogmas officially started December 1.  Which is also the day my shop, Creative Blerd Paperie launches.

What was I thinking?

Well, wish me luck!

I’ll be compiling all of the Blogmas posts on their own page here on the blog for easy reference.
